The basket is made from an extra fine herringbone mesh that is made from electro-polished stainless steel and keeps out 100% of sediment. The basket measures 5" in diameter and 9" high, and has an angled handle that is plastic coated to help insure a more comfortable and sure grip. The handle has an open end so it can be hung up for drying or storage. You can use this item with many commercial pasta cookers or with standard stock pots.
